As a small, woman-owned brand, MUNS takes pride in creating high quality pieces that you will wear for years to come. To commemorate MUNS store’s fifth anniversary, we’ve created a small collection of items designed in collaboration with five other women-owned local brands who share our core values and strive to produce long-lasting pieces.
We chose a color palette that parallels a serene day at the beach: blues and neutrals. Every detail, from the design to the materials, takes meaning from our story. Most importantly, each item represents our idea of creating something “con amor” (with love).
Materia Madura is a sustainable materials and design company that focuses on using local waste as a resource to design functional, everyday products. Founder, Ana Quiñones creates effective and meaningful solutions to environmental issues by designing sophisticated objects that have a story to tell through their materiality.
In collaboration and with the intention of honoring our Muns jewelry beginnings this completely custom jewelry keepsake came to life. Aligned with our mission to reduce environmental waste, Materia Madura created an innovative material composed of unused linen offcuts, sourced from Muns clothing collections. They created a 3D digital model to fabricate a full scale prototype that would produce a reusable mold for the keepsake. The material mixture is poured into the mold and cured. After that, each piece undergoes detailed hand-finishing, including sanding, polishing, and the application of natural sealers. The result is a one-of-a-kind keepsake that combines sustainability, functionality, and local design.
